Lessons & Carols on Christmas Eve

  • First United Methodist Church 219 East 4th Street Bloomington, IN, 47408 United States (map)

We’ve all experienced unexpected gifts – a present we didn’t know was coming, a surprised visit from a friend or loved one, or an olive branch of grace extended to us by someone we’d hurt. The mystery of Christmas surrounds the unexpected gift of the Christ Child, God-with-us, in the midst of our suffering and despair. As we listen to the Biblical stories again, sing our favorite carols, and light our candles, we’ll give thanks for the thrill of hope God offers us on this holy night.

Join us at 8:00pm on Christmas Eve in our historic sanctuary for our traditional Lessons & Carols service! Seating will begin at 7:30pm as we enjoy an extended Christmas prelude on organ from our Director of Music, Dr. Charles Prestinari. Of course, we'll continue the tradition of ending with "Silent Night" in candlelight and welcome the Christ child with "Joy to the World!

Childcare will be available for kids age 5 and under.
