When Jesus is transfigured on the mountain, his faces changes and his clothes become dazzling white. Peter, John, and James witness him speaking with Moses and Elijah in this incredible moment that reveals God’s glory. Yet for all of the splendor, this doesn’t fulfill Jesus’ purpose. That comes on the other side of the mountain, where he meets a child in need of healing from an unclean spirit and begins is journey to the cross. What does God’s glory look like in our world today? How can we be present to it while we wait and work for the fulfillment of God’s reign?
