The Holy Spirit is a mysterious gift. At the baptism of Jesus, the Spirit descends in bodily form like a dove upon Jesus. At Pentecost, the Spirit is like a violent wind with tongues of fire anointing each of the disciples to understand in different languages God’s deeds of power. When we receive the Spirit, what exactly is this gift? How do we use it? How does the Spirit move in First Methodist and empower us to be about God’s loving work in Bloomington and beyond?
