We hope you'll join us for this hybrid in-person and live-streamed Classic Worship service at 10:00am in our sanctuary. It is not necessary to RSVP for this service.
Jesus shows us the challenge of discerning good from evil. We who consider ourselves in the “in-crowd” with Jesus may be surprised to learn that we are siding with Satan when we think we are being faithful to God. Jesus makes it clear that his biological family is not his family, rather it is the crowd of misfits, crazies, and his clueless disciples who form his family. It is not the morally perfect who are closest to Jesus, but the wounded who draw near to him for healing. So much of this passage seems foreign to our 21st century sensibilities. But what truth might it hold for us we begin to unpack our own complicated relationships with Jesus, our families, and the church?
