June 5, 2022 | 11:45am | Sanctuary
If you enjoy praising God in contemporary worship, we hope you'll join for this special Pentecost celebration 11:45am in our sanctuary on June 5. We'll sing upbeat contemporary music, explore Scripture lessons, and hear a message that speaks to faith in action. Immediately following the service, join us for a Town Hall Lunch in the Great Hall!
On the day of Pentecost, the Holy Spirit dramatically filled the apostles so that the crowds who gathered heard the good news in their native language. In that windblown moment, they realize they belong to a God of love. In belonging to God, they also belong to each other, to the Body of Christ we call the Church. It’s not easy to live together in this one Body. There’s a deep irony in calling ourselves United Methodists because on the whole, we’re addicted to division. As we see the division happening in our denomination, how do we remain committed to unity and belonging at First Methodist?
