“I’m spiritual but not religious” is a common mantra we hear these days. When people say this, they’re often asking the question: “May I follow Jesus without being involved in the church?” Since Jesus is risen and alive in our world, it’s possible to bump into altars everywhere we go. But if we’re truly going to grow as his disciples, then we need to be engaged in a worshiping community and small groups that hold us accountable to our discipleship pathway.
